Microduino Sensor Dust

The Microduino Sensor Dust is a compact optical air quality module designed to detect fine particulate matter in your surroundings. An internal infrared emitting diode and phototransistor are mounted diagonally inside the housing, sensing the light reflected by airborne pollutants. Even very fine contaminants, such as cigarette smoke, pollen, and household dust as small as 0.8 microns, can be detected.

As shown in the product image, the module features a slim gray rectangular body with a dark charcoal top, a pattern of small ventilation dots, a larger circular intake hole, and a white sensing slot on the front face. Its small, lightweight form makes installation simple inside air purifiers, ventilation fans, air conditioners, and other appliances.
