The 4M Kidzlabs Giant Visible Padlock kit lets young inventors discover how security devices work in the real world. Its transparent red housing reveals every moving part, so children can watch the pin-tumbler mechanism in action as they turn the oversized key.

Builders first assemble the lock from pre-cut parts, then experiment by changing the teeth on a blank key to create their own unique combination. This engaging activity encourages logical thinking, fine-motor skills and problem-solving while making STEM learning fun.

The finished lock measures approximately 13 cm tall and really clicks shut and opens just like the ones adults use. Inside the box you’ll find a plastic housing, metal shackle, spring-loaded pins, screws, two keys, key-making parts and detailed illustrated instructions. Adult supervision is recommended. Not for children under 3 years due to small parts.
